Mozilla India Meetup 2k16: An experience & a token of thanks.

To start off with, if you’re here to know about what happened at the event, then please look for the documented stuff (which even I’ve contributed into). Here, I’m writing down, what’s not mentioned in those documented forms.  I take time, to congratulate Mozilla India community to have been successful in accomplishing the goals of restructuring the whole process & of course (my favourite part), inclusion of new functional areas, thus increasing the scope of overall contribution towards Mozilla.

These 3 days (26th to 28th) have been added to the most overwhelming experiences of my diary, within. I witnessed a lot of Diversity, which is indeed an integral part of our Mozilla Community and we must strive hard to maintain (As per our lovely Konstantina Papadea) & to even pump it up to the next level.

The presentation and clarity of thought exhibited by Bradley Cohen, makes me admire him every time I think of Marketing, branding or moreover anything related to Moz Logo, oops! (No more Moz, fox, or zilla ) the Mozilla Logo. Coming up to the personal leadership session by Ankit Gadgil, co-facilitated by Natasha Chaudhary , led to interaction with mozillians plus leaders, each representing one or the other geographic location on the Indian map. This event was nothing less than a Self-Check , and quite an alarming one to where I as a Leader stand (It wasn’t that bad for sure).

IMG_0333Exchange of thoughts, voicing up your views, and staying up for like almost 12 hours of a day together for just the unanimous MOZ Love, defines a true community. Throwing some light on my focussed learnings:

  • Appreciate others.
  • Listening helps.
  • Decentralize power and responsibility (yes because, with great power also comes great responsibility, remember?).
  • Don’t always jump on solutions, rather analyse on the problems. It increases the efficiency of the solution (trust me, it does).

On the concluding notes, I’d express my gratitude towards:

The whole Event planning team, logistics team of Moz Pune for organising a PAN India meetup, at the same time also made each and every attendee, at ease and comfort. Hats off to the efficient planning, towards George, Bradley, Dϊetrϊch, and the really sweet Konstantina for taking time and coming down to India and sharing their acquired valuable skills, experiences and knowledge. Trying to remember some names, like Ram Dayal to never say a no to any question related to MozVR, Vnisha, for being such a wonderful host, Priyanka and Diwanshi to always bring us back to the venue on time, thus making the event start and end on time. Umesh ji for keep the string intact such that these vital and precious beads (event and minute details) don’t slip off, Dyvik for being such a wonderful partner in the Operations and Infrastructure team (the smallest team).

A special Thanks to Tripad and Jafar for very well airing the event and his tremendous efforts, and the very patient Bhuvnesh, to deliver such great quality photographs and memories of this event and Harsha Vardhan for starting this new segment of Documentation, thus opening up doors for me to contribute towards this well managed event. Lastly, to all the great mozillians I befriended, whom i assure that they’d be more than just a contact in the phone. Cheers!
